A 50-year-old man has been charged in Pilibhit after a 46-year-old woman accused him of sexually assaulting her at her home while her husband, a farmer, was working in the fields. The incident occurred in a village in Pilibhit district, as per the woman's written complaint.

According to the complaint, the accused, a resident of the same village, forcibly entered the woman's house and grabbed her. When she resisted, he allegedly attempted to overpower her, forcibly removed her clothing, and tried to rape her. Hearing her screams, local residents rushed to the scene and rescued her. The accused managed to flee but reportedly threatened to kill her if she reported the matter to the police.
Legal Action Taken
Based on the woman's complaint, an FIR has been registered at the local police station. The Station House Officer (SHO) confirmed that the accused has been charged under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including:
- Section 333: House trespass
- Section 351(3): Criminal intimidation
- Section 74: Assault or criminal force to a woman to outrage her modesty
- Section 76: Disrobing a woman
- Section 77: Voyeurism
The SHO stated that a thorough investigation is currently underway. Authorities are gathering evidence and recording statements from witnesses. The accused remains at large, and efforts are being made to apprehend him.
