Major Police Personnel Reshuffle in Patna Following Disciplinary Review
In a significant administrative move, multiple police officers stationed across various police stations in Patna have been transferred with immediate effect. This decision received formal approval from the Inspector General of Police for the Central Zone in Patna on Thursday, marking a substantial reshuffle within the local law enforcement hierarchy.
Disciplinary Action Triggers Key Transfers
The transfers were initiated following a review of officer conduct and performance. Sub-inspector Ranvijay Kumar has been removed from his position as Station House Officer (SHO) at Didarganj police station and reassigned to Police Line, Patna. This action was taken after his explanation regarding alleged illegal soil excavation activities in the Didarganj area was deemed unsatisfactory by senior authorities.
Sunil Kumar, who previously served as the prosecution and security in-charge at Barh court, has now assumed the critical role of SHO at Didarganj police station, filling the vacancy created by this transfer.
Additional Officer Reassignments Across Stations
The administrative reshuffle extended to several other police stations. Sub-inspector Sanjeet Kumar has been transferred from his post as SHO at Naubatpur police station. Similarly, SHO Maheshwar Prasad Rai of Dhanarua police station has also been moved to Police Line, Patna.
In corresponding appointments, SI Amit Kumar, who formerly held the position of additional SHO at Dhanarua, has been promoted and taken charge as the new SHO of Dhanarua police station. SI Manjeet Kumar Thakur has been appointed as the new Station House Officer for Naubatpur police station.
Further Posting Changes in Patna Police Jurisdiction
The transfer orders also affected other key positions. Shankar Jha, the SHO of Nadi police station, has been reassigned as the SHO of Chitragupt Nagar police station. Saddam Hussein, previously in charge of JP Setu TOP, has been shifted to take over at Nadi police station.
Completing this cycle of reassignments, Bishnu Kumar, who was earlier posted at Bikram police station, has now been appointed as the new in-charge of JP Setu TOP.
Daylight Robbery in Barh: Showroom Owner Loses Rs 6 Lakh
In a separate but concerning incident, bike-borne criminals executed a brazen daylight robbery in Patna district on Thursday, snatching Rs 6 lakh from Lalan Kumar, the owner of a prominent two-wheeler showroom.
Details of the Robbery Incident
The robbery occurred as Kumar was returning to his residence in Gonavan Colony after withdrawing the substantial cash amount from a Bank of Baroda branch located in Barh. Police investigators suspect that the criminals had been tailing the victim from the bank and strategically intercepted him as he turned into the lane leading to his home.
According to preliminary reports, two men on a motorcycle swiftly snatched the bag containing the money and sped away from the scene, leaving the victim shocked and the local community alarmed.
Police Investigation Underway
Barh DSP Anand Kumar Singh, along with the Barh station in-charge, promptly arrived at the crime scene with an investigative team. Authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation into the robbery.
"Authorities are meticulously scanning CCTV footage obtained from the immediate locality and adjoining roads to identify and trace the suspects involved in this audacious crime," stated DSP Singh, emphasizing the technological approach being employed in the investigation.
The simultaneous occurrence of these administrative transfers and a high-value robbery case highlights the dynamic challenges facing law enforcement in the region, with authorities responding through both personnel management and active criminal investigation.
