Patna Police to Recreate Scene of Teen's Fatal Fall in Phulwarisharif Building
Patna police are preparing to recreate the incident scene at a multi-storey building in the Phulwarisharif area, where a Class XI student tragically fell to her death. This step is part of the ongoing investigation into the suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident, which has raised serious questions.
Details of the Incident
The incident occurred on Thursday morning, February 12, when the 16-year-old girl arrived at a private coaching centre located on the first floor of the building at approximately 7:45 AM. CCTV footage captured her entering the premises and rushing upstairs, followed by two youths, before she fell from the top floor of the five-storey structure. Her body was discovered on the road shortly after, around 8:12 AM.
Family Allegations and Medical Findings
The girl's family has alleged murder, claiming she was assaulted and pushed from the height, citing visible injury marks on her body. However, a postmortem conducted by a medical board at AIIMS-Patna did not confirm any evidence of rape or sexual violence. The exact cause of death—whether it was an accidental fall, suicide, or homicide—remains pending, with investigators awaiting detailed analysis.
Police Investigation and Detentions
Phulwarisharif SHO Ghulam Shabaz Alam stated that a guard from Paliganj and three carpenters from Arwal and Jehanabad, who were present at the building during the incident, have been detained for questioning. "Their polygraph test will be conducted after the court's permission. We are questioning the girl's family, friends, and teachers of the coaching classes to gather clues in the case," he explained.
Recreation of the Scene and Forensic Analysis
The police emphasized that the exact manner of the fall is still undetermined, prompting the recreation exercise. "The requisition was sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), and they have formed a team for the scene recreation. The autopsy report did not mention rape, but we are sending swab samples to the FSL for further examination," the SHO told TOI.
The medical report noted injuries in several places and broken bones. "The injuries seen on the body could have been caused by a fall from a height. Now, the FSL report will clarify the situation further," the police added, highlighting the need for comprehensive forensic analysis to resolve the case.
