Patna Police Cracks Down on Organized Cheating in Constable Recruitment

In a significant crackdown on corruption within the recruitment process, Patna police have successfully busted a sophisticated cheating ring that was actively operating during the physical efficiency test (PET) for constable positions. The operation was conducted at a government school located within the jurisdiction of the Gardanibagh police station area.

Tip-Off Leads to Swift Police Action

Sachivalay SDPO-1 Anu Kumari revealed that the police action was initiated following a crucial tip-off received on February 5. "The police received specific information about a cheating ring and immediately organized a raid at the examination centre," stated Kumari. During the raid, three suspects were apprehended while attempting to flee the scene. According to police reports, these individuals were allegedly assisting candidates in cheating during the examination in exchange for monetary compensation.

Digital Evidence Unearths Racket Details

Upon searching the arrested suspects, police confiscated multiple cellphones that contained substantial evidence linking them to the organized cheating operation. The seized digital material included photographs of admit cards belonging to numerous candidates, images related to walkie-talkies, and suspicious chat records that indicated coordinated cheating activities. Furthermore, investigators discovered evidence of large financial transactions, strongly suggesting that the operation was not only organized but also involved large-scale cheating with significant monetary exchanges.

Impersonation Scheme Uncovered During Physical Tests

In a related development, police also arrested two candidates during the PET who were found to have used impersonators in the written examination phase of the recruitment process. "These candidates had managed to clear the written test using fake identities but were ultimately caught during the physical efficiency test," explained Anu Kumari. All arrested individuals, including the three suspects and the two candidates, have been sent to jail as the investigation continues.

Ongoing Investigation and Future Actions

Police authorities have confirmed that efforts are currently underway to identify and apprehend other members of the cheating gang. The discovery of this organized racket has raised serious concerns about the integrity of the recruitment process for constable positions in Patna. Authorities are now reviewing security protocols and examination procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future, ensuring that recruitment remains fair and transparent for all candidates.
