Patna Police Uncover Forgery Racket After Arresting Fake Lawyer and Associates for Hostage and Blackmail Case

In a shocking incident in Patna, police have arrested three individuals, including a man posing as a high court lawyer, for allegedly luring a young man to their office, holding him hostage, brutally assaulting him, and attempting to blackmail him with nude videos. The arrests were made following a detailed investigation into a complaint filed by the victim, exposing a broader forgery operation.

Details of the Arrest and Accused Identities

The arrested accused have been identified as Chaitanya Krishna, his associate Alok Kumar, and Manish Kumar. Chaitanya, originally from Muzaffarpur, operated an office named Arthav Legal Services in the Shastri Nagar area of Patna. Police revealed that he was using this setup to deceive people through fraudulent activities.

Victim's Ordeal and Police Complaint

The victim, Ajit Kumar, a resident of Rohtas district, lodged a formal complaint at the Shastri Nagar police station on April 3. According to the FIR, Ajit had approached Chaitanya for assistance in correcting his name on his Aadhaar card. The accused took Rs 5,000 from him under the pretext of preparing a Bharat Gazette notification but failed to deliver the promised service.

When Ajit called Chaitanya on the night of April 2 to follow up, he was allegedly subjected to verbal abuse. The situation escalated the next day, April 3, when Ajit visited the office along with his friend Pankaj. Upon their arrival, the three accused began hurling abuses at them. When Pankaj attempted to record the incident on his mobile phone, the accused snatched the devices and held both men hostage at knifepoint.

Brutal Assault and Blackmail Attempt

During the hostage situation, the accused reportedly stripped the victims, attempted sexual harassment, and forced them to consume drugs while Chaitanya himself was under the influence. Ajit was coerced into paying Rs 7,000 to secure the return of his mobile phone. In a further act of intimidation, the accused allegedly took nude photographs and videos of the victims and threatened to make them viral if a police complaint was filed.

Police Raid and Discovery of Fake Seals

During a raid on the office, police recovered 39 fake seals of sub-divisional magistrates (SDMs) from various districts, including Jaunpur, Gaya, Kaimur, Saharsa, and Patna. Additionally, several pen drives, mobile phones, and suspicious documents were seized as evidence. This discovery points to a sophisticated forgery racket operated by the accused.

Official Statement and Ongoing Investigation

Sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) II of Secretariat, Saket Kumar, stated that police, with the help of an FSL team, collected necessary evidence and seized all the fake seals. “Police arrested three people from the spot. Along with this, approximately 39 fake seals of various government officials were found in his possession, which Chaitanya was using to prepare forged documents to mislead and deceive people. An FIR has been registered,” he said.

Kumar added, “Further investigation is underway to identify the full network and other people who may have been involved in this forgery racket.” The police are working to uncover the extent of this criminal operation and ensure all involved parties are brought to justice.
