Patna Doctor Found Brutally Murdered and Dismembered in Nawada Field
A horrifying discovery was made in Nawada district on Friday when the charred and dismembered body of a local medical practitioner was found in a sugarcane field. The gruesome remains were located approximately 500 metres from the victim's residence in Koshi village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Roh police station.
Severe Mutilation and Burning of the Body
According to police officials, the body had been cut into two separate parts, with the waist and torso severed and burned at different locations within the field. This brutal act appears to have been a deliberate attempt to obscure the victim's identity and destroy evidence.
Despite the severe burning and disfigurement, relatives were able to identify the deceased as Ashok Mistry, a 45-year-old medical practitioner. Identification was made based on recognizable pieces of his shirt and certain facial features that remained discernible.
Disappearance and Family's Anguish
Ashok Mistry had been missing since Thursday night, according to family members. His father, Rajendra Mistry, provided heartbreaking details about his son's routine and disappearance.
"Ashok worked as a medical practitioner in Koshi village for approximately ten years," said Rajendra Mistry. "He routinely returned home after closing his clinic on Thursday evenings. On that fateful day, he left for home on his motorcycle at around 9 pm but never arrived."
The family grew increasingly concerned when they discovered his mobile phone was switched off. Their worries culminated in filing a formal complaint at the police station on Friday, shortly before the grim discovery was made.
Police Investigation and Preliminary Findings
Police have taken custody of the remains and sent them for a comprehensive post-mortem examination. Preliminary investigations suggest a particularly violent sequence of events leading to the victim's death.
Investigators indicate that the victim was likely assaulted before being killed, with his throat allegedly slit to ensure death. The subsequent burning of the body appears to have been a calculated attempt to conceal the victim's identity and potentially destroy forensic evidence.
Official Statement and Ongoing Investigation
Rajauli Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Hulas Kumar addressed the media regarding the ongoing investigation. "The case is being investigated from all possible angles," stated SDPO Kumar. "We are examining technical evidence and exploring potential motives, including possible personal enmity. Further investigative action will be determined based on the post-mortem report and any additional evidence we uncover."
The police are currently pursuing multiple lines of inquiry while awaiting the official post-mortem results. The brutal nature of the crime has shocked the local community in Koshi village, where Ashok Mistry had served as a medical practitioner for a decade.
