Chemical Attack in Patna Over Financial Dispute Leaves Couple Injured
Tension flared in the Paithan Toli area of Maner, Patna district, on Tuesday night when a gold shop owner allegedly threw a chemical liquid at a local worker and his wife during a heated argument over unpaid dues. The couple sustained minor burn injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital, with police confirming both are in stable condition.
Escalation of Argument Leads to Violent Altercation
According to police reports, the incident unfolded around 10 PM when the trader, identified as Guddu Kumar Soni, visited the residence of Pintu Kumar, an employee at his jewellery shop, to demand payment for an outstanding amount. The discussion quickly deteriorated into a verbal confrontation, with both parties exchanging abuses. Soni initially left the scene but returned shortly with four to five friends, reigniting the demand for payment.
When Pintu refused to pay, citing a shortage of money, the situation escalated into a physical scuffle. During the altercation, Soni allegedly retrieved a chemical liquid from his nearby shop and threw it at Pintu. The liquid splashed onto Pintu's wife, Rajni Devi, resulting in burn injuries to both individuals. The injured couple was promptly rushed to a hospital for medical attention.
