Panchkula District Court Evacuated After Bomb Threat Email, Security Operation Launched

Panic spread through the Panchkula district court complex on Monday after an alarming email was received on the official email ID of the Sessions Judge. The message contained a direct threat to blow up the court premises, prompting immediate emergency protocols and a large-scale evacuation.

Swift Police Response and Comprehensive Search Operation

Upon receiving the alert, the Panchkula police and district administration activated standard security measures without delay. The entire court complex was temporarily evacuated as a precautionary measure to eliminate any potential risk to life and property.

A multi-agency security team was swiftly deployed to the location, including specialized units such as a bomb disposal squad, sniffer dogs, and special police teams. These units conducted a thorough and systematic search across every section of the court complex and its immediate surroundings.

Panchkula Assistant Commissioner of Police Dinesh Kumar stated, "A thorough search of the court complex and adjoining area found nothing suspicious. It was a hoax." After the extensive security sweep, authorities declared the situation completely safe and under control.

Enhanced Security Measures and Cyber Investigation

Following the all-clear declaration, police implemented strengthened security arrangements at the court complex. Additional personnel were stationed at all entry and exit points, while surveillance systems were enhanced in accordance with updated safety guidelines.

Panchkula DCP Srishti Gupta emphasized, "Immediate action was taken as per established security procedures upon receiving the threat. The entire court complex has been thoroughly checked, and the situation is fully secure. The cyber cell is conducting a technical analysis of the email. We urge the public not to pay attention to rumours."

The cyber cell has initiated a detailed investigation to trace the origin of the threatening email and examine its technical characteristics. Police and district authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, confirming that law and order in the district remains normal despite the disruptive incident.

Precautionary Security Checks at Punjab and Haryana High Court

In response to the Panchkula threat, security teams from multiple agencies conducted thorough checks at the Punjab and Haryana High Court complex in Chandigarh on Monday afternoon. The operation involved personnel from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and Chandigarh Police.

A police officer explained that this exercise was undertaken "as a precautionary measure," particularly in light of multiple recent incidents where threatening emails targeted schools and court complexes in Chandigarh and surrounding areas.

Specialized teams including dog squads and bomb disposal units conducted an intensive search of the high court premises. All access points were closely monitored during the operation. Police officials confirmed that no suspicious objects or explosive materials were discovered during these checks.

Pattern of False Threats Across the Region

This incident follows a similar pattern of hoax bomb threats that have disrupted institutions across northern India in recent weeks. Just days earlier, a bomb threat email to the Ambala court complex prompted another search operation that ultimately found nothing suspicious.

Multiple educational institutions have also been targeted, with several schools in Chandigarh receiving similar false threats. The pattern extends to cities including Amritsar, Jalandhar, and Patiala in Punjab, as well as Ambala in Haryana. All these incidents have been confirmed as hoaxes after thorough security investigations.

Authorities continue to investigate the source and motivation behind these coordinated false threats, which have caused significant disruption and consumed substantial security resources across multiple jurisdictions.
