According to police reports, Dobbalpudi Sambasiva Rao, aged 32, and his mother K Krishna Kumari, aged 55, were fatally attacked inside their residence in what authorities describe as a crime driven by family tensions.
Marital Dispute Turns Deadly
Investigations reveal that the tragedy stemmed from ongoing marital problems between Sambasiva Rao and his wife. The couple had been living separately after the wife moved to her parents' home following domestic disputes.
Police confirmed that the couple had recently decided to pursue divorce proceedings, which had escalated tensions between both families in recent weeks. The situation reached a boiling point when the wife's younger brother, identified as a minor, allegedly decided to take matters into his own hands.
Impulsive Attack Claims Two Lives
Inspector M Hyma Rao of Sattenapalli Rural Police Station provided chilling details of the incident. The minor boy, reportedly upset after hearing his sister cry over the marital issues, went to Rao's residence in an impulsive act fueled by anger.
Armed with a knife, the boy launched a violent attack on both Sambasiva Rao and his mother. Sambasiva Rao sustained multiple stab wounds and died on the spot, while his mother suffered critical injuries during the assault.
Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment, K Krishna Kumari succumbed to her injuries while undergoing medical care.
Villagers Apprehend Suspect
Alert villagers from Chagallu played a crucial role in the case when they intercepted the minor boy as he attempted to flee the scene after the violent attack. The local residents detained the suspect and promptly handed him over to the police authorities.
