Elderly Pakistani-Origin Couple Found Dead in Jaisalmer Under Suspicious Circumstances
In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, an elderly couple of Pakistani-origin was discovered dead under highly suspicious circumstances at their residence in Jaisalmer on Saturday. Victims Identified as Lakharam and Reshma Bhil
The deceased have been identified as Lakharam Bhil, aged 80, and his wife Reshma Bhil, aged 75. The couple resided alone in a Bhil settlement situated behind Navodaya Vidyalaya. They had no children and had originally migrated from the Rahim Yar Khan district in Pakistan approximately two decades ago. Notably, they had recently been granted Indian citizenship, adding a poignant layer to this heartbreaking event.
Discovery of the Bodies and Initial Police Response
According to official police reports, the bodies were first discovered by Lakharam's nephew, Chandaram, who visited their home in the morning. He found Lakharam's body lying in the courtyard, while Reshma's body was located inside a room. Villagers were immediately alerted, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement. Police personnel quickly reached the scene and subsequently transferred the bodies to the mortuary for further examination.
Robbery Angle Emerges as Key Suspicion
Superintendent of Police Abhishek Shivhare provided crucial details, noting that silver anklets worn by Reshma Bhil were missing, which has raised significant suspicions of a robbery motive. Additionally, footprints were discovered near the house, further bolstering this theory. During the initial examination, no visible injury marks were found on the bodies.
