Noida: Two held for killing friend at New Year party

In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through Noida, two men have been taken into custody for the alleged murder of their friend during a New Year's Eve celebration. The victim, Vineet Raj, was reportedly pushed from the balcony of a 15th-floor apartment at the upscale Amrapali Golf Homes Society in Bisrakh.

Fatal Altercation at a Celebration

According to police officials, the tragic event unfolded during a party at the high-rise society. The accused, identified as Dheeraj Kumar Singh (25) and Vishal Mishra (25), were celebrating with Vineet Raj (31) and other friends when a heated argument erupted. Additional DCP (Central Noida) Santosh Kumar stated that the initial quarrel was not intended for Raj. The accused were allegedly searching for another individual with whom they had a long-standing feud.

However, the situation quickly escalated and turned violent towards Vineet Raj. "A scuffle broke out, after which the accused thrashed Raj and pushed him from the balcony," the officer explained. This brutal act resulted in Raj's immediate death from the fall from the 15th floor.

While the two primary accused are now in custody, the investigation is far from over. Police have confirmed that five other individuals who were present at the flat during the fateful party are currently absconding. Special police teams have been formed to track down and apprehend the remaining accused.
