Noida Police Cracks Down on Interstate Drug Network
Police in Noida made a significant breakthrough on Wednesday. They arrested three individuals connected to an interstate drug trafficking operation. The men were allegedly supplying large quantities of cannabis, commonly known as ganja, to dealers across the Delhi-National Capital Region.
Major Haul and Arrest Details
Authorities apprehended the suspects along Bhrali Road near Expo Mart. The arrest followed specific intelligence received by the police department. Officers seized a substantial 102.4 kilograms of cannabis from the accused during the operation. The contraband had an estimated street value of twenty-five lakh rupees.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Rinku Yadav, aged thirty-two, Sanjeev Sahu, also thirty-two, and Abhishek Kumar, who is twenty-three years old. All three men now face serious charges related to drug trafficking and distribution.
Operation and Supply Chain Exposed
Investigations reveal the gang operated a sophisticated supply chain. They sourced the cannabis directly from Odisha, where they purchased it at relatively low prices. The group then transported the illegal substance to the National Capital Region using rented trucks.
To avoid detection by law enforcement, the traffickers employed clever tactics. They deliberately used unfamiliar rural routes instead of main highways. This strategy helped them evade police checkpoints and surveillance for an extended period.
Once the cannabis reached the NCR, the gang processed it for distribution. They stored the large consignments in rented rooms across the area. From these storage points, they divided the drugs into smaller packages suitable for street-level sales.
Targeting Educational Institutions
Police officials expressed particular concern about the gang's distribution network. The accused allegedly supplied the cannabis to local peddlers who specifically targeted universities and colleges. These educational institutions across the region became primary markets for the illegal substance.
ADCP Sudhir Kumar of Greater Noida provided details about the police response. "We received credible information about this trafficking operation," Kumar stated. "Our teams immediately intensified patrols along key routes, leading to the successful interception."
The officer further explained the gang's business model. "They purchased ganja cheaply from Odisha and sold it at much higher rates in the NCR," Kumar said. "Their use of secondary roads and rural pathways was a deliberate attempt to avoid police attention."
This arrest represents a significant disruption to drug supply networks in the National Capital Region. Police continue their investigation to identify additional members of the trafficking operation and their distribution channels.
