Noida Man Arrested for Murder Following Alleged Stone Attack Over Rs 1,500 Theft Dispute
In a shocking incident in Noida, a man was arrested on Thursday for murder after he allegedly struck another man with a stone and dumped him into a drain following a heated argument over Rs 1,500. The tragic event unfolded in Sector 64 earlier the same day, highlighting the grim realities faced by daily wage workers.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, the accused, identified as Ravindra, and the victim, Rahul (35), were both daily wage workers who had been living on the footpath in Sector 64. The conflict began around 9 am on Thursday when Ravindra noticed that Rs 1,500 were missing from his pocket. Suspecting that Rahul had stolen the money, Ravindra confronted him, leading to a verbal altercation that quickly escalated into violence.
During the argument, Ravindra allegedly picked up a stone lying nearby and struck Rahul on the head. The impact caused a severe head wound, and Rahul collapsed at the spot. In a further act of brutality, the accused then pushed the injured man into a nearby drain, as confirmed by police statements.
Police Response and Investigation
Around 10 am, residents in the area spotted Rahul's body and immediately alerted the authorities. A team from the Phase-III police station swiftly reached the scene and transported Rahul to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. A post-mortem examination has been initiated to determine the exact cause of death, with reports expected to clarify whether it resulted from the head injury or drowning.
DCP (central Noida) Shakti Mohan Avasthy stated that a forensic team inspected the crime scene and collected crucial evidence to aid the ongoing investigation. The initial probe led police to Ravindra, who was taken into custody. Authorities have initiated further legal proceedings against the accused and are probing the case from all angles to ensure justice is served.
