Neemuch Police Bust Major Cannabis Farm, Seize 10,000 Plants

In a significant blow to narcotics operations in Madhya Pradesh, the Neemuch police have uncovered and destroyed a massive illegal cannabis cultivation operation. The raid, conducted in the jurisdiction of the Kukdeshwar police station, led to the seizure of approximately 3.12 quintals of cannabis in the form of nearly 10,000 green plants.

Joint Operation Based on Specific Intelligence

According to Neemuch Superintendent of Police Ankit Jaiswal, the successful action was the result of a precise tip-off. Acting on this information, a coordinated team from the Kukdeshwar, Manasa, and Rampura police stations launched a joint operation on December 22. The target was a field situated along the Aamad–Ragaspariya (Amargarh) road.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a cleverly concealed operation. The illicit cannabis plants were being grown under the cover of legitimate wheat and mustard crops, a tactic used to avoid detection from casual observation. During the intensive raid, law enforcement personnel uprooted and confiscated all plants, which ranged from small to large in size.

Part of a State-Wide Crackdown and Drone Surveillance

This operation is not an isolated incident but part of a broader, aggressive campaign against illegal narcotics across Madhya Pradesh. Police officials revealed that the action followed clear directives issued during a recent crime review meeting. The instructions emphasized activating informer networks and ramping up surveillance measures.

Drone-based searches have been specifically highlighted as a key tool in this intensified effort to detect hidden plantations of banned crops like opium and cannabis. The estimated street value of the confiscated contraband from this single raid is a staggering Rs 10 lakh.

Authorities are now working with the revenue department to verify the ownership details of the land where the illegal cultivation was discovered. This step is crucial for identifying and taking action against the individuals behind the operation.

Second Major Bust in December for Kukdeshwar Police

This raid marks the second major success for the Kukdeshwar police in the month of December alone. Earlier, on December 5, police had seized around 3 quintals and 25 kilograms of cannabis from nearly 15,000 green plants in a field located in Sheopuriya Chakkiwala village, which falls under the same police station limits.

The back-to-back significant seizures indicate a focused and sustained effort to eradicate the illegal drug trade from the region. Police have stated that a thorough investigation is currently underway to identify all parties responsible for this large-scale cultivation. Legal action will be initiated as soon as their involvement is conclusively established.
