In a disturbing incident in Nashik, an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) was allegedly roughed up by a group of people on the street in the Ashoknagar area of Satpur. The altercation occurred after the ASI knocked down a biker with his car on Saturday night, leading to a chaotic scene that required police intervention.

The accident took place around 11 PM on Saturday in Ashoknagar. The assistant sub-inspector, who is attached to the Ashoknagar police chowkey of the Satpur police station, was driving home in his four-wheeler. According to initial reports, he attempted to manoeuvre around two motorcycles in front of him but ended up hitting a parked car on the roadside and a biker.
While the biker escaped with minor injuries, the situation quickly escalated. People on the streets of Ashoknagar reportedly smashed a window of the cop's car and manhandled him, leading to injuries. The ASI was hospitalised with a fractured hand and rib injuries, though the exact cause of these injuries remains under investigation.

Senior inspector Prakash Ahire of the Satpur police station stated, "It is yet to be ascertained if the policeman concerned suffered injuries in the accident or during the attack on him after the accident.
