Nalanda Horror: Husband Kills Wife Over Puja Dispute in Biharsharif Village

Victim Identified as Sonamanti Devi
The deceased has been identified as Sonamanti Devi, wife of Lalu Chauhan. According to preliminary police reports, the tragic incident unfolded when Lalu became upset after his wife performed puja at a neighbor's house. This act sparked a fierce argument between the couple, which quickly escalated into violence.
Brutal Attack Details
During the altercation, Lalu Chauhan allegedly smashed his wife's head against a hard object with such force that she died on the spot. The attack was so severe that it resulted in immediate fatality, leaving the village community in a state of shock and mourning.
Police Response and Investigation
Upon receiving information about the incident, police personnel rushed to the scene. They conducted a thorough investigation with the assistance of a forensic science laboratory (FSL) team to collect crucial evidence. The victim's body was subsequently sent to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital for a detailed postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death and gather forensic evidence.
Legal Action Taken
Ben Station House Officer (SHO) Raviraj Singh confirmed that a case has been registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The accused husband, Lalu Chauhan, has been arrested and is currently in police custody. SHO Singh emphasized that further investigation is actively underway to uncover all aspects of this tragic case.
