A police constable in Nagpur has gone missing after being allegedly assaulted by an assistant police inspector at the Cyber Cell police station on Friday, according to sources. The senior officer accused the constable of leaking confidential information to the press, which led to a heated argument and physical altercation.
The constable subsequently lodged a complaint with Joint Commissioner of Police Navinchandra Reddy, who ordered an inquiry into the matter. However, shortly after filing the complaint, the constable went underground, triggering a massive search operation involving multiple police stations, including the crime branch.
The constable's family and colleagues have expressed deep concern, stating that despite repeated attempts to contact him, he remains untraceable. The incident has caused significant unrest within the Cyber Cell, with police now investigating both the assault and the mysterious disappearance.
Authorities are exploring all possible leads to locate the missing constable, and the internal inquiry into the alleged assault is ongoing.
