Medicine Shop Owner Found Hanging in Muzaffarpur Residence
A tragic incident unfolded in Muzaffarpur district on Saturday when a medicine shop owner was discovered hanging at his residence under the Brahmapura police station area. The deceased has been identified as Jitendra Kumar Pandey, aged 47, who resided on Sanjay Cinema Road.
Discovery of the Incident
According to police reports, the family members of the shop owner were out of town at the time of the incident. The matter came to light on Saturday morning when there was no movement from his room for an extended period. His brother repeatedly called out to him but received no response, prompting him to inform the police immediately.
The door to the room was locked from the inside, and in the presence of police officials, it was broken open. Inside, Pandey was found hanging from a noose, presenting a distressing scene for the authorities and family members.
Police Investigation and Evidence Collection
Brahmapura Station House Officer (SHO) Vijay Lakshmi arrived at the spot with her team and conducted a thorough inspection of the area. The police team collected necessary evidence from the scene to aid in their investigation. After completing all formalities, the body was sent to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Possible Suicide Case Under Scrutiny
SHO Vijay Lakshmi stated, “Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide. The room was locked from inside. Every possible angle is being examined. Police are trying to ascertain whether Jitendra was under mental stress or if there was any major business-related issue. His mobile call details are also being scrutinised.”
She further added that police are questioning Pandey’s brother and other family members to gather clues about the possible reasons behind his death. The investigation aims to uncover any underlying factors that might have led to this unfortunate event.
