On April 14, Rashmi Chalke, who had worked as an accountant with a Kandivli-based firm for over three decades, was on her way home from work. She typically commuted by auto-rickshaw or walked, and that evening, she had informed her husband via phone that she would return by 8 pm. However, the family's wait turned to tragedy when two individuals arrived to report that Rashmi had been injured in a road crash.
Upon calling her phone, her husband was answered by a woman who stated that Rashmi had been transported to Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital. Rushing to the medical facility, he was met with the heartbreaking news that doctors had pronounced her dead upon arrival. Further inquiries with witnesses at the hospital revealed that Rashmi was crossing the road when a motorcyclist, identified as Gaurav Patil, hit her at high speed.

Gaurav Patil also sustained injuries in the collision and is currently undergoing treatment.
