Mumbai Road Rage Incident Claims Life of 25-Year-Old Biker in Malad West

A tragic road rage incident in Mumbai's Malad West area resulted in the death of a 25-year-old biker on Saturday morning. The victim, identified as Sharik Ansari, a resident of Malvani employed at a digital marketing company, was fatally stabbed during an altercation with a cab driver and his passenger near Inorbit Mall.

Police Arrest Cab Driver and Passenger Following Fatal Altercation

The Bangur Nagar police have arrested cab driver Satyendra Gupta (28) and passenger Sunil Pal (27), both residents of Laljipada in Kandivli West, in connection with the case. According to police reports, the incident occurred between 11 am and 11:30 am under the Oswal Metro station near Inorbit Mall.

The confrontation began when Ansari's motorcycle made slight contact with Gupta's taxi while both were traveling from Malwani towards Andheri via Link Road. A heated argument erupted near Mith Chowky Junction, which escalated as both parties continued driving while exchanging words.

Sequence of Events Leading to the Tragic Outcome

Police investigation reveals that Gupta stopped his cab and blocked Ansari's path, leading to a physical altercation when both vehicles stopped near Infiniti Mall. During the argument, Ansari reportedly struck the taxi's windscreen with his helmet, damaging the glass.

"Gupta then allegedly retrieved a sharp object from his vehicle and stabbed Ansari, with the weapon piercing both his chest and the back of his neck," explained DCP (Zone XI) Sandeep Jadhav.

Interestingly, Gupta himself alerted police about the fight, though officers arrived to find Ansari already critically injured. The passenger, Sunil Pal, who works in water pump repair, was also involved in the altercation, leading to charges against both individuals.

Immediate Response and Investigation Details

Witnesses at the scene intervened immediately, rushing Ansari to Criticare Hospital in Malad West, where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. Police have seized the weapon used in the stabbing as evidence.

The incident highlights the dangers of road rage escalating into violence on Mumbai's busy streets. Both accused individuals remain in police custody as investigations continue into the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal confrontation.
