Mumbai: A saree shop employee was arrested by the Malad police under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act after he allegedly harassed a 12-year-old girl by showing her a pornographic video. The incident took place on Saturday in Malad (West), and the girl's parents approached the police after she returned home in distress.
Incident Details
The girl's mother had ordered a saree from the showroom, and the accused delivered the item to their home. When the mother did not have the exact change for payment, she sent her daughter to a nearby shop to get change. On her way back, the accused intercepted the girl and showed her a pornographic video on his mobile phone.
Complaint and Arrest
The girl returned home crying and narrated the ordeal to her mother. The couple immediately approached the Malad police, who registered a case under the Pocso Act and arrested the employee. The police are investigating the matter further.
