Following the seizure, the case was promptly handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai zonal office, which registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. On March 18, 2026, the accused, identified as Jaspreet Singh, aged 47 and a resident of Ludhiana, was intercepted while accepting a dummy parcel at his residence.
