The arrested individuals have been identified as Vikram Bane, a 29-year-old staff member employed with HRPL, and Mohammad Morshedul Alam, a 27-year-old Bangladeshi national. Both were taken into custody under Section 104 of the Customs Act, 1962, which pertains to offenses related to smuggling and evasion of duties.
Recovery of Contraband Gold
Upon thorough examination, customs officers recovered 1.5 kilograms of 24-karat gold dust, cleverly concealed in wax.
