Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Mohali, Harmandeep Hans, confirmed that the arrests were executed based on a combination of technical surveillance and human intelligence. The detained individuals allegedly provided critical reconnaissance and logistical assistance to the shooters both before and after the targeted attack.
Identities of the Arrested Accused
The police have identified the arrested accused as Baltej Singh, also known as Bunty, hailing from Tehna village in Faridkot, and Mangat Singh, alias Max, from Jalalabad in Fazilka. During the investigation, law enforcement successfully recovered a black motorcycle with registration number PB-22-D-5444 and a white car bearing number UP-14-CD-6847. These vehicles were reportedly used by the assailants to carry out the murder and facilitate their escape from the crime scene.
CCTV Footage Analysis Reveals Execution Details
According to SSP Hans, meticulous analysis of CCTV footage unveiled that two gunmen arrived at the location on the motorcycle. They opened fire at the victim, Gurvinder Singh, near his parked vehicle, subsequently changing their attire before making their getaway in the white car. The murder, which took place on January 28, 2026, occurred in a high-security zone outside the SSP office court complex, raising serious concerns about the meticulous planning and execution involved.
Transnational Criminal Network Involvement
The investigation has established that the crime was allegedly masterminded by foreign-based gangster Satinderjit Singh, alias Goldy Brar, in collusion with his associates Vicky Singh, alias Vicky Sattewala, and Ravi Kumar, alias Ravi Faridkotia. Both associates are believed to be operating from the United Kingdom and Dubai, respectively. The duo has been named in the First Information Report (FIR) for planning and facilitating the murder from overseas.
Victim's Wife Expresses Fear and Threats
The victim's wife, Amardeep Kaur, who filed the complaint, earlier informed the police that her husband had been receiving threats. She specifically expressed fear regarding the potential involvement of Goldy Brar, highlighting the gravity of the situation and the premeditated nature of the attack.
Recovery of Vehicles and Established Roles
SSP Hans stated, "On the disclosure of the arrested accused, both vehicles used in the crime were recovered. Their role was to assist the shooters with movement, recce, and escape planning." He further added that the identities of the two main shooters have also been established, paving the way for targeted efforts to apprehend them.
Systematic Planning and Escape Route
The Mohali police revealed that the two accused based overseas, Vicky Singh alias Vicky Sattewala in the UK and Ravi Kumar alias Ravi Faridkotia in Dubai or Germany, orchestrated the crime in a highly systematic manner. They guided the executors to avoid toll plazas and other CCTV cameras strategically placed at various junctions, ensuring a smooth escape route.
Previous Attempts to Eliminate the Victim
SSP Harmandeep Hans disclosed that the killers had been tracking Gurvinder Singh for several months. Prior to this incident, the shooters had made three attempts to eliminate him, but each bid was thwarted due to police presence.
