Hassan Police Intensify Search for Missing Woman After Tracing Belongings

In a concerning development in Hassan district, police have made significant progress in the case of a 28-year-old woman who went missing from Arehalli in Belur taluk. Two days after Priyanka's disappearance, authorities on Saturday successfully traced her personal belongings across three separate locations within the Hassan Rural police jurisdiction.

Family Expresses Grave Concerns Over Possible Foul Play

The family of the missing woman has raised serious suspicions of criminal involvement in her disappearance. According to Priyanka's aunt Soumya, the young woman was wearing jewellery valued at several lakhs of rupees when she vanished. "The miscreants may have targeted her specifically for her valuable jewellery and could have harmed her to obtain these precious items," Soumya stated with evident distress.

Priyanka, who is married to a resident of Kunigal in Tumakuru district, had traveled to Chikkamagaluru to attend a wedding ceremony. Her disappearance occurred after she boarded a bus following the wedding events. Concerned family members have taken formal legal action by registering a Zero FIR with the Belur police station, which has subsequently been transferred to the Arehalli police for further investigation.

Police Obtain Strong Leads in Investigation

Hassan Superintendent of Police Shubhanwitha provided crucial updates regarding the ongoing investigation. "The police have obtained strong leads in this case that are guiding our search efforts," the SP confirmed. Technical evidence reveals that Priyanka's last mobile phone activity was recorded at 8:07 PM on Thursday within the Hassan Rural police limits.

Further investigation indicates that Priyanka departed from Bikkodu around 6:30 PM on the same evening. The police have successfully recovered several of her personal items, including her dress, slippers, and vanity bag, which were found at three distinct locations near a lake in the Hassan rural area.

Three Special Teams Formed for Comprehensive Investigation

In response to the developing situation, Hassan police have established three dedicated investigation teams to pursue all available leads. "These specialized teams are working diligently on technical evidence and following every possible angle in this case," SP Shubhanwitha emphasized during her briefing.

A particularly troubling detail emerged from family accounts of Priyanka's final known communication. However, the call was abruptly disconnected before she could identify who this individual was. Minutes following this conversation, Priyanka's mobile phone was switched off, and she has remained missing since that moment.

The investigation continues as police work to piece together the sequence of events leading to Priyanka's disappearance and locate the missing woman. Family members remain anxiously awaiting further developments while authorities pursue all investigative avenues in this troubling case.
