Acting on reliable and specific information, law enforcement officials, including the inspector, sub-inspector, and staff from Konaje police station, along with Anti-Drug Team personnel, received alerts about illegal drug activities. The intelligence pointed to the sale of MDMA at the Navagrama Site, located in the Naryaguttu Gudda area of Balepuni village, within Ullal taluk and under Konaje police jurisdiction.

Based on this actionable tip, a coordinated raid was swiftly organized and carried out. The operation was meticulously planned to ensure maximum effectiveness in apprehending the suspect and seizing contraband.

Arrest and Seizure Details Unveiled

During the raid, police apprehended the accused, identified as Jordan, a 21-year-old resident of Balepuni village. Jordan hails originally from Srirangapatna taluk in Mandya district. From his possession, authorities confiscated a substantial quantity of illicit substances and related paraphernalia.

The seized items include:

  • 55 grams of MDMA, a potent psychoactive drug commonly known as ecstasy.
  • One mobile phone, suspected to be used for communication in drug transactions.
  • A digital weighing machine, indicating precise measurement for sales.
  • Other materials associated with drug distribution activities.

Legal Proceedings and Charges Filed

In connection with this case, the Konaje police station has registered a formal complaint under the stringent Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The charges invoked are Sections 8(c), 22(a), 22(b), and 22(c), which cover offenses related to the production, manufacture, possession, sale, purchase, transport, and use of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
