A man was arrested in Mangaluru on Friday for allegedly attempting to attack his wife with a sword amid ongoing marital disputes. The incident took place in the city's outskirts, where the accused, identified as Ramesh, confronted his wife during a heated argument.

According to police reports, Ramesh, a resident of Mangaluru, had been experiencing marital discord with his wife for several months. On Thursday evening, he confronted her near their residence and allegedly brandished a sword, threatening to harm her. Neighbors intervened and alerted the police, who arrived promptly and apprehended the accused before any injury occurred.
Legal Action Taken
A case has been registered against Ramesh under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act, based on a complaint filed by the victim, Devi Prasad. The police have seized the sword used in the attempt. The accused is currently in judicial custody and will be produced before the court.
