Gurgaon Auto Driver Kidnaps, Assaults Sisters; Bystander Alert Leads to Arrest
Manesar Auto Driver Kidnaps Girls, Arrested After Flyover Jump

A vigilant passerby played a crucial role in rescuing two young sisters and triggering a police operation that led to the arrest of an auto-rickshaw driver accused of a horrific crime in Manesar, Gurgaon. The accused, identified as 29-year-old Sarvesh, allegedly kidnapped the girls, aged 8 and 6, and sexually assaulted the older child before being apprehended after a dramatic attempt to flee.

The Disturbing Kidnapping and Assault

The incident unfolded last Saturday around 5 pm at a ground in Manesar where several children were playing. According to police, Sarvesh arrived at the location and specifically targeted the two sisters. He approached them with chocolates and other eatables, which investigators say indicates premeditation. Striking up a conversation, he lured the girls by offering them a ride around the ground.

Once they agreed, he drove them to an isolated, forested area. There, he sexually assaulted the 8-year-old girl while her younger sister remained inside the auto-rickshaw. The situation took a turn when a local resident happened to pass by the secluded spot. The passerby spotted the auto and the suspicious activity, immediately raising an alarm. This prompted the accused to panic and flee the scene on foot, abandoning his vehicle.

Swift Police Action and Dramatic Capture

The alert citizen promptly informed the police control room. A coordinated response followed, with a patrolling team, Manesar police, and a crime branch unit rushing to the location. The girls were safely recovered, their family was informed, and the children were taken for a medical examination. Police formed multiple teams to track down the fugitive.

By Monday, the Manesar crime branch had traced Sarvesh using a combination of online and offline intelligence. He was preparing to flee Gurgaon and was waiting for a bus on the KMP Expressway in Pachgaon. As a police team closed in on him, Sarvesh panicked. In a desperate bid to escape, he jumped from the KMP flyover. The fall resulted in fractures in both his legs. He was taken into custody from the spot and is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital under police guard.

Aftermath and Legal Proceedings

Sarvesh, who is married and has a daughter, lives alone in Kasan while his family resides in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh. A senior police officer condemned the act, stating, "This is a heinous crime, and the accused should get stringent punishment." An FIR has been registered against him at the Manesar police station under relevant sections of the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

While the girls did not sustain major physical injuries, sources confirm that both sisters are receiving counselling to help them cope with the traumatic ordeal. The case highlights the critical importance of community vigilance and swift police intervention in crimes against children.
