A shocking case of robbery combined with digital fraud has been registered at the Sarojini Nagar police station in Lucknow. The incident, which occurred on the morning of February 3, involved a Kanpur resident who was allegedly lured into an SUV by unidentified men, robbed of cash and valuables, and later forced to withdraw nearly Rs 1 lakh from his Google Pay account.
Details of the Incident
The complainant, Fida Hussain, a resident of Syed Nagar in Rawatpur, Kanpur Nagar, reported that he was waiting near Scooter India Chauraha in Lucknow after visiting relatives. He was preparing to return home when an SUV stopped near him. Inside the vehicle were four occupants who offered to drop him off in Kanpur.
However, instead of taking the usual route, the accused allegedly drove Hussain through isolated and unfamiliar roads. During this journey, they threatened him and robbed him of Rs 5,400 in cash, a wristwatch, and his mobile phone. The victim further claimed that the gang also took away his driving licence.
