Bhati lured the woman into his car under a false pretext and drove to a flyover near Kaili village. There, he demanded that she break off her engagement. When she refused and stated she would have no further contact, Bhati became enraged. He retrieved a packet of poison from his car, forcibly administered it to her, and then ingested some himself, as detailed in her police complaint.
