The incident stems from a domestic conflict involving Kamlesh Bind, a resident of Pratapgarh. Police reports indicate that Kamlesh and his wife had a severe fallout several months ago, leading to their separation. Since Kamlesh works in Surat, he entrusted the custody of his 10-year-old son to his brother-in-law, Bajrangi Bind, who lives in Baudhai Kathauta village.
Legal Battle Over Child Custody
The situation escalated on March 7 when the boy's mother and aunt filed a formal complaint with the Phulpur police, seeking custody of the child. Despite repeated attempts at persuasion, Bajrangi Bind refused to return the boy. This refusal prompted the authorities to file a challan against Bajrangi under Section 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
Conspiracy to Fake Kidnapping
Angered by the legal action, Kamlesh Bind conspired with Bajrangi Bind, his sister Radhika, and his 19-year-old brother Akhilesh Kumar. Their plan involved hiding the child and spreading false information that the boy had been kidnapped by his mother and aunt. To execute this, Kamlesh submitted a kidnapping complaint to the Phulpur police on March 8.

The Phulpur police immediately formed a dedicated team to investigate the alleged kidnapping. Through diligent inquiry, officers discovered the child safe at Bajrangi Bind's residence. The boy was promptly rescued and reunited with his mother, bringing relief to the family.
