A tragic incident unfolded in Kamareddy district on Thursday night, where a 30-year-old man allegedly drowned his two children in the Nizamsagar project before taking his own life. The Kamareddy police reported that the bodies of the man, identified as Krishna, and his children—an eight-year-old and a five-year-old—were recovered on Friday morning by the Disaster Response Force and local fishermen.
Sequence of Events
Krishna, a resident of Patancheru, had captured photos and videos of himself playing with his children and shared them with a relative. He later sent an audio message to the same relative, informing about his decision to take the extreme step. When relatives arrived at the scene, they found his parked bike and the footwear of Krishna and his children, but due to darkness, they could not locate them.
Police Investigation
Banswada rural police informed TOI on Friday that investigations revealed Krishna had gone to the middle of the water, where he allegedly pushed his children, leading to their drowning. He then reportedly took his own life. Marital disputes are suspected to be the motive behind Krishna’s actions, and he was reportedly unemployed, said police.
