Bulandshahr Man Divorces Wife Over 'Cement and Drum' Murder Plot Fears
A 30-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district has parted ways with his wife after discovering disturbing social media posts on her phone that referenced "cement aur drum" (cement and drum) and "neela drum" (blue drum). The man, identified as Rajkumar, interpreted these posts as a sinister plot to kill him, leading to the dissolution of their marriage through police intervention.
Discovery of Disturbing Social Media Posts
The incident came to light when Rajkumar approached local authorities, alleging that his wife, Sheetal, had been involved in a relationship with Mukesh, a daily wage laborer from a neighboring village, for over a year. Rajkumar and Sheetal, who share a two-year-old son, had been living separately for some time prior to this discovery.
Rajkumar stated, "Once when I checked her phone, I found some nude photos and murder stories shared on Facebook with captions like 'cement aur drum'. There was also a picture of me with the words 'neela drum aur cement'. From that moment, I lived in constant fear that she might try to kill me."
Police Mediation and Mutual Separation
The situation was resolved through police counseling and legal procedures. Women cell in-charge Bobesh Dhiman explained, "Following counseling and legal intervention, the couple mutually agreed to separate. No criminal case has been registered. Their two-year-old child will remain with Rajkumar, as Sheetal has declined to take custody. Further inquiry is currently underway."
Rajkumar expressed relief, saying, "Now that she is no longer living with me, I can focus on raising my child and ensuring my safety. Let her find happiness in her own world." Sheetal has since moved in with Mukesh.
Parallels to Meerut's 'Blue Drum Murder' Case
This case has drawn comparisons to the infamous Meerut "blue drum murder" from a previous year. In that incident, Muskan Rastogi and her partner Sahil Shukla were accused of killing her husband, Saurabh Rajput, and concealing his body in a cement-filled drum at their residence. The similarities in terminology have raised concerns and highlighted the psychological impact of such references in domestic disputes.
Broader Implications and Community Response
The incident underscores the growing influence of social media in personal relationships and legal matters. Authorities emphasize the importance of digital literacy and prompt reporting of suspicious activities. Community leaders in Bulandshahr have called for increased awareness about domestic safety and the legal avenues available for resolving marital conflicts without escalation.
This case serves as a reminder of how seemingly innocuous online content can have profound real-world consequences, affecting family dynamics and personal security.
