Pokhran police made significant progress in a bull slaughter case on Thursday. They arrested two more men, including the main accused. The arrests bring the total number of people apprehended in this case to eight.
Identifying the Accused
The police identified the arrested individuals as Imran and Yakub. Authorities named Yakub as the primary suspect in this case. Both men carried rewards of Rs 5,000 each for their capture.
Police Action and Investigation
Superintendent of Police Abhishek Shivhare provided details about the operation. He stated that police received a report about the killing of a bull in Pokhran on January 8. Following this report, authorities initiated an investigation.
Under the supervision of DSP Bhawanisingh, SHO Bharatsingh Rawat, and assistant in-charge of District Special Team Mahadev Godara, police had already arrested six accused persons. They then issued directions for the immediate arrest of the remaining suspects.
A special team formed under the leadership of Bharatsingh Rawat focused on catching the remaining criminals. This team received information that the two men were traveling on Jaisalmer road.
The Dramatic Chase and Capture
Police set up a blockade to intercept the suspects. However, when the duo spotted the police, they abandoned their motorcycle and attempted to flee on foot.
During the ensuing chase, both men fell into a large roadside pit. This accident resulted in serious injuries for Yakub, who suffered a leg fracture. Imran sustained minor injuries during the fall.
Officers apprehended both men at the scene of the accident. They immediately transported the injured suspects to Seth Vitthaladas Rathi Government Hospital for primary medical treatment.
After initial examination, doctors referred Yakub to a higher health center in Jaisalmer for specialized care due to his fractured leg.
Ongoing Investigation
Police confirmed that both arrested individuals are currently undergoing interrogation. Authorities continue their investigation into the bull slaughter case. Further details may emerge as the investigation progresses.
