A lavish night out for a prominent Ludhiana furniture tycoon turned into a terrifying ordeal early this morning. The family returned to their Sarabha Nagar estate only to discover a brazen robbery executed by their recently hired domestic help.
Returning Home to Chaos
Ravneet Singh and his family arrived back at their residence around 2 am. They had just attended a birthday celebration. The scene that greeted them was one of complete disarray. Their driver lay unconscious on the drawing room floor. The family's new employee, a woman named Parvati, was nowhere to be found.
A Meticulously Planned Operation
Police investigators quickly pieced together the events from recovered CCTV footage. The footage reveals a calculated and cold-blooded theft. Parvati, who hails from Nepal, had been working for the family for a mere fifteen days.
Authorities state she waited for the perfect moment. Once the Singh family left for the party, she made her move. Parvati allegedly served the driver a meal laced with a powerful sedative. After he lost consciousness, she invited two male accomplices into the house.
"The footage clearly shows her coordinating with two aides," said Assistant Sub-Inspector Sukhdeep Singh. "They arrived shortly after the driver was subdued. Together, they identified and hauled away the high-value loot."
The Staggering Haul
A thorough search of the home confirmed the family's worst fears. The thieves had targeted the estate's vault. They made off with more than 500 grams of gold and diamond jewellery. The total value of the stolen ornaments is currently being assessed.
Hunt for the Trio Intensifies
The Division Number 5 police station has registered a formal First Information Report under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The charges include theft by a servant and criminal acts committed with common intention. A massive manhunt is now underway.
Police are tracking the escape route of the three suspects using neighborhood surveillance camera feeds. The investigation has revealed that Parvati was hired based on a personal recommendation from an acquaintance named Shyam Kumar Bahadur.
A Stark Warning for Employers
This shocking incident has sent ripples through Ludhiana's affluent communities. Local authorities have issued a fresh and urgent warning to all residents. They are emphasizing the critical, non-negotiable need for formal police verification of all domestic staff.
"Personal recommendations are simply not enough," a senior police official stressed. "This case is a textbook example of why proper background checks are essential. We urge every employer to follow the mandated verification process without exception."
The search for Parvati and her two male accomplices continues as police work to recover the stolen jewellery and bring the perpetrators to justice.
