The suspended officials are from the Lucknow Municipal Corporation and the Fire Department, according to government sources. The four arrested individuals are the joint owners of the building, accused of negligence and violating fire safety norms.
Officials stated that the building lacked adequate fire exits and firefighting equipment, which contributed to the high casualty count. The arrests were made under sections of the Indian Penal Code related to culpable homicide and negligence.
