Loan Dispute Escalates into Fatal Stabbing in Morbi Village
A violent confrontation over an unpaid loan resulted in the tragic death of a 28-year-old man in Khakhrechi village, located in the Maliya Miyana taluka of Morbi district. The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, following a dispute that turned deadly.
Details of the Attack
According to a complaint filed by the victim's friend, Vivek Patel, at the Maliya Miyana police station, the victim, identified as Anil Kandaniya, was attacked around 1 a.m. at the grounds of Dhairya Hotel. Patel and Kandaniya were at the hotel for a snack when five individuals arrived in a car, all armed with knives.
The assailants, named as Ramesh Rabari, Kishan Chauhan, Pruthvirajsingh Zala, Hira Ulva, and Gulam Pathan, confronted Kandaniya about repaying money borrowed from Shivam Rabari of Hothal Finance. As the argument intensified, Kishan Chauhan allegedly stabbed Kandaniya first, followed by Ramesh Rabari and the others.
When Patel attempted to intervene and save his friend, he was also stabbed by Pruthvirajsingh Zala, adding to the chaos of the violent episode.
Aftermath and Police Response
Kandaniya was immediately rushed to Morbi Government Hospital via the 108 emergency service. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to Rajkot Civil Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.
The police have launched a comprehensive search operation to apprehend all the accused involved in this heinous crime. Authorities are investigating the motive behind the attack, with initial reports pointing to the unpaid loan as the primary catalyst.
