BJP Worker Accused in Bulandshahr Land Dispute Murder, Ex-MLA's Nephew Killed
Land dispute turns fatal in Bulandshahr, BJP functionary accused

A violent clash over a land dispute in Bulandshahr district has resulted in the death of a 43-year-old man and left his elder brother injured, with a local BJP functionary and his brothers named as the primary accused. The incident, which occurred in Neemkheda village, has sent shockwaves through the region and prompted a significant police deployment to prevent further unrest.

The Fatal Confrontation Over Land Measurement

According to police reports, the victims, identified as Haji Sufiyan (43) and Haji Akram (45), residents of Mirchi Tola, had visited an orchard on Monday to measure the land linked to an ongoing property deal. It was there that a dispute allegedly erupted with BJP functionary Satendra Singh, also known as Pintu, and his brothers.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dinesh Kumar Singh stated that the argument quickly escalated into extreme violence. "Sufiyan and his brother were attacked with sticks and sharp weapons," the SSP said. He further revealed that the accused also allegedly ran an SUV over the two men, and in the chaos, Akram's licensed pistol was snatched from him.

Police Action and Political Repercussions

Following the assault, police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Satendra Singh, his brothers Ravindra Kumar and Vijay Kumar, along with several unidentified persons. The charges are severe, encompassing murder, assault, rioting, and other relevant sections of the law. The SUV purportedly used in the crime has been seized by the authorities.

The political dimension of the case is significant. The deceased and injured are nephews of the late Haji Aleem, a former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA from Bulandshahr, who himself met a tragic end in October 2018 when he was allegedly shot dead by his own son in a property dispute. BJP Bulandshahr district president Vikas Chauhan confirmed Satendra Singh's association with the party, acknowledging he has held organizational positions. Chauhan emphasized that the police should investigate thoroughly and that the party would take appropriate action based on the findings.

Tension in Bulandshahr and Heightened Security

The aftermath of the killing saw a large crowd gather at the district hospital, where the injured Akram is undergoing treatment. The gathering created palpable tension in the area, leading authorities to take precautionary measures. To maintain law and order, police teams from multiple stations were mobilized, and personnel from the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) were deployed.

This incident highlights the often-volatile nature of land disputes in the region and has raised serious questions about political involvement in local conflicts. The police investigation is now under intense scrutiny as they work to piece together the full sequence of events and ensure justice is served.
