Discovery After a Trip
Mangala Singh had just returned from a family vacation to the Sundarbans. Upon arriving home, he immediately noticed something was wrong. The main collapsible iron gate and the wooden door showed clear signs of forced entry. They had been pried open, indicating a break-in.
Scene Inside the House
Inside the residence, the situation was chaotic. A room on the right side of the house, which contained two steel almirahs, stood wide open. The almirahs, typically used for storing valuables, had been ransacked. Jewellery and other precious items were missing from their usual places.
Clothes lay scattered across the floor, adding to the disarray. The complaint filed by Singh detailed these observations, painting a picture of a thorough and hurried search by the intruders.
Stolen Property Details
Mangala Singh estimated the total value of the stolen property at over Rs 30 lakh. The list of missing items is substantial and includes multiple pieces of gold jewellery. These ornaments belonged to various family members, representing both sentimental and monetary value.
In addition to the gold, the burglars took Rs 1 lakh in cash. They also stole silver ornaments with a total weight of approximately 3 kilograms. A high-value electronic item, a MacBook Pro valued at around Rs 2 lakh, was also among the stolen goods.
