Kochi Man Fatally Attacked with Frying Pan in Drunken Rooftop Altercation
In a shocking incident of violence, a 40-year-old man was brutally beaten to death using a frying pan during a drunken brawl on the rooftop of a house located at SRM Road in Kochi on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Aljude Abro, a resident of Janatha Colony in Vaduthala.
Friend Arrested Following Gruesome Discovery
The North police have taken into custody the victim's friend, Shinoj, who is also 40 years old. According to police reports, Shinoj had rented out his house and was living in a shed constructed on the rooftop of the building. On Sunday night, both Shinoj and Abro consumed liquor together, which eventually escalated into a heated drunken argument.
Police investigations indicate that the prima facie case suggests Shinoj struck Abro on the head with a frying pan. The impact of the blow was so severe that the handle of the utensil broke off. The following morning, labourers who had taken the house on rent discovered Abro's lifeless body on the rooftop and immediately alerted the authorities.
Swift Police Response and Evidence Recovery
Law enforcement officers quickly reached the scene upon receiving the information. Shinoj was apprehended from the vicinity itself, and the police also successfully recovered the frying pan used in the attack. Officers revealed that Shinoj has a known habit of becoming agitated under the influence of alcohol, and it is suspected that an argument over the victim using his bed may have triggered the violent confrontation.

Further scrutiny into Shinoj's past has uncovered that he already has a snatching case registered against him.
