Police in North Paravur, Kochi, have initiated a serious investigation after a violent midnight altercation at a rented house left a young woman injured. An FIR has been officially registered, naming five individuals accused of forcing their way into the home and launching a brutal assault.
Details of the Violent Incident
The incident occurred in the Nanthiattukunnam area in the early hours of Monday. According to the First Information Report, the group of accused forcefully entered the rented accommodation around 12:15 am. The complainant, identified as Roshni, a 25-year-old from Kanjiramkulam, Thiruvananthapuram, was reportedly the main target of the attack.
The FIR details a harrowing sequence of events. One of the primary accused, Alan Antony, is alleged to have smashed a glass bottle on Roshni's head. This violent act caused significant wounds to her head and shoulders. The assault did not stop there; after she fell to the ground, the accused allegedly proceeded to kick her with boots.
Multiple Victims and Alleged Motive
The violence was not confined to Roshni. Another accused present at the scene, Rasali Basheer, also sustained an injury during the chaos. Basheer suffered a hand wound after being poked with a kitchen tool. Police sources indicate that the attack stemmed from personal enmity.
Initial statements from the complainant suggest a financial dispute was a trigger. Roshni claimed she owed money to Alan Antony. Furthermore, the accused allegedly held a grudge against her for not using intoxicants. Disturbingly, there are also reports that the accused hurled explosives at the house, although this detail is part of the ongoing probe.
