Kishan Reddy Urges CM to Fast-Track Land for Railway Roads

Hyderabad: Union coal and mines minister G Kishan Reddy has requested chief minister A Revanth Reddy to expedite land allotment for expanding roads and infrastructure at Cherlapally and Secunderabad railway stations.

In an open letter to the CM on Tuesday, the Union minister highlighted that the Cherlapally railway station, developed at a cost of 430 crore last year, aims to reduce congestion at Kachiguda, Secunderabad and Hyderabad terminals. Since opening, daily trains have increased passenger traffic significantly.

Kishan Reddy stressed the urgent need to widen the approach roads at Cherlapally station to facilitate better movement for passengers and vehicles. Specifically, FCI Godown Road should be expanded to 200 feet, and the road from Bharat Nagar near Indian Oil petrol pump needs to be widened to 100 feet. Additionally, the road connecting EC Nagar to MMTS platform must be widened to 100 metres over a 700-metre stretch. Three acres of land near the new station building and 2.70 acres near the MMTS platform were needed for parking and support facilities, he added.
