Khargone Man Allegedly Murders Second Wife, Sleeps Beside Body with Children
A shocking incident of domestic violence has unfolded in Khargone district, Madhya Pradesh, where a 38-year-old man allegedly killed his second wife over suspicions of infidelity and then slept beside her lifeless body through the night, along with their two young children. The gruesome event occurred in Pichhodiya village under the Palsla Faliya area, within the Chainpur police station limits, on Saturday.
Details of the Accused and the Victims
Police identified the accused as Jagdeesh Dabar, who had previously been married and fathered five children with his first wife. She left him several years ago, taking all the children with her. Subsequently, Jagdeesh married his sister-in-law, Rima Bai, aged 25, and the couple had two children together. The tragic incident was triggered by Jagdeesh's growing suspicion over Rima Bai's frequent outings, which led to a heated argument between them.
Brutal Assault and Aftermath
According to sub-divisional officer of police (SDOP) Rakesh Arya from Bhikangaon, the dispute escalated when Jagdeesh allegedly attacked Rima Bai with a stick, repeatedly striking her in a violent outburst. After the assault, he reportedly lay down on a cot next to her body and slept through the night, with the two children present in the same room. The police, acting on received information, arrived at the scene and found Jagdeesh still in the house along with the children. He was immediately taken into custody.
The postmortem report revealed the extreme brutality of the attack, indicating that no part of Rima Bai's body was left without injury. She succumbed to excessive bleeding and multiple injuries, as confirmed by SDOP Arya. A case of murder has been officially registered against Jagdeesh Dabar.
Legal Proceedings and Custody
The accused was produced before a local court on Sunday, which remanded him to judicial custody. This case highlights severe issues of domestic violence and trust breakdowns within families, raising concerns about community safety and mental health in rural areas of Madhya Pradesh. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover any additional motives or circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
