Three Killed, One Injured in Tragic Kanpur Car Accident
A devastating car accident in Kanpur Dehat resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including two brothers, and left one person injured on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred when the vehicle they were traveling in lost control and plunged into the Ramganga canal in Rasoolabad town.
Victims Identified in the Fatal Crash
The deceased have been identified as Rakesh Srivastava, aged 54, and his brother Radhesh Srivastava, aged 42. The identity of the car driver remains unknown at this time. The injured survivor is Abhishek, 26, who is the son of Rakesh Srivastava. All individuals involved were residents of Bahraich Road in Gonda.
Details of the Fatal Journey
According to preliminary reports, Rakesh Srivastava, a tent house operator, along with his family members, had hired a car to travel to Akodhiya village in the Rasoolabad area of Kanpur Dehat. The purpose of their visit was to attend a mundan ceremony, a traditional head-shaving ritual, organized at the house of Rakesh's maternal cousin.
The tragic accident unfolded as the group was returning to Gonda after the ceremony. As their car approached Oriya village, it suddenly veered out of control and fell into the Ramganga canal. The impact and subsequent submersion led to the immediate crisis.
Villagers Launch Rescue Operation
Upon hearing a loud noise from the crash site, local villagers rushed to the scene and initiated a rescue effort. Through determined and strenuous work, the villagers managed to pull Abhishek from the canal waters. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, Rakesh, Radhesh, and the car driver could not be saved and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police and Administrative Response
Police and administrative officials arrived promptly after being notified of the accident. The bodies of the deceased were recovered and sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact causes of death. Assistant Superintendent of Police Rajesh Pandey provided an update on the condition of the injured, stating that Abhishek is out of danger and is receiving medical care.
