Two Young Men Perish in Kanpur Bike-Tractor Collision
A devastating road accident near a culvert in Kanpur has claimed the lives of two youths, casting a pall of grief over Jaitipur village. The incident occurred late Monday evening under the jurisdiction of the Ghatampur police station area.
Details of the Fatal Crash
According to police reports, the victims were identified as Arun, aged 21, son of Ramdas, and Ankit, aged 18, son of Dharmendra, both residents of Jaitipur. The tragedy unfolded when the motorcycle they were riding collided at high speed with the rear of a wood-laden tractor-trolley near the Jaitipur culvert.
Police stated that Arun and Ankit, who were maternal cousins, had traveled to Ghatampur town to get their crop processed. After completing this task, they were returning to their village in the evening. As they approached the culvert, their bike violently rammed into the back of the tractor-trolley moving ahead of them.
Immediate Aftermath and Police Investigation
The high-impact collision left both youths with critical injuries. Alert villagers rushed them to the Community Health Centre (CHC), where attending doctors, unfortunately, declared them dead upon arrival.
Police Out-Post In-Charge Shailendra Singh provided crucial details about the accident. He confirmed that the bike riders were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash, which likely exacerbated their injuries. In response, the police have seized the involved tractor-trolley as part of their ongoing investigation.
