Major Burglary in Junagadh Village: Farmer's House Looted of Gold and Cash
In a brazen late-night burglary, thieves targeted the home of a farmer in Muktupur village, Mangrol taluka, Junagadh, making off with gold jewellery and cash valued at approximately Rs 7.4 lakh. The incident occurred on Monday night while the family was away attending a wedding ceremony, leaving the property vulnerable to intrusion.
Details of the Theft and Police Investigation
According to officials from the Mangrol Marine police station, the house belongs to 42-year-old Batuksinh Chudasama. The intruder forcibly broke the latch on the door to gain entry into the residence. Upon returning late at night, the Chudasama family discovered the door wide open and immediately noticed signs of disturbance inside.
A thorough inspection revealed that a cupboard had been ransacked, with 80 grams of gold jewellery and Rs 1,800 in cash missing from the premises. The total estimated value of the stolen items amounts to Rs 7.4 lakh, dealing a significant financial blow to the farmer and his household.
Legal Action and Police Response
Batuksinh Chudasama promptly lodged a formal complaint at the Mangrol Marine police station following the discovery of the theft. The police have registered a case under Sections 305(A) and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against an unknown thief. Authorities are currently investigating the burglary, collecting evidence, and pursuing leads to identify and apprehend the perpetrator.
