Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren Chairs High-Level Meeting on Festival Security
In a proactive move to ensure public safety, Chief Minister Hemant Soren of Jharkhand presided over a crucial meeting with top officials on Thursday, focusing on maintaining law and order during the upcoming festive season. The meeting, held at the CM's residential office, saw the participation of senior state headquarters officers, with deputy commissioners and superintendents of police from various districts joining via online connectivity.
Comprehensive Security Measures Outlined
During the session, CM Soren emphasized the need for the administration to remain on high alert 24/7 to facilitate peaceful celebrations of Eid, Sarhul, and Ram Navami in the coming days. He directed the deployment of adequate police forces at sensitive areas and religious sites, while also instructing that informants be mobilized to promptly report any suspicious activities to the authorities. "Cooperation from all communities is essential to achieve this goal," Soren stated, underscoring the importance of collective effort.
Key Instructions for Enhanced Safety
The Chief Minister issued a series of detailed directives to bolster security arrangements:
- Safe Zones: Creation of designated safe zones along procession routes to protect attendees.
- Documentation: Comprehensive recording of all activities during sobha yatras and processions to aid in future festival planning and strategy formulation.
- Social Media Vigilance: Strict monitoring of social media platforms to identify and take action against anti-social elements spreading rumors or inciting disturbances.
- Special Arrangements: Implementation of specific protocols for the safe rescue of women and children in case of any untoward incidents during processions.
Additional Security Protocols
Further measures highlighted by CM Soren include ensuring uninterrupted power supply, setting up public announcement systems, prohibiting the playing of offensive songs, and enhancing surveillance through closed-circuit television cameras at sensitive locations. He also mandated aerial surveillance of procession routes using drones and emphasized that the height of flags during processions must comply with the directives issued by the Jharkhand High Court.
