KANPUR: Police in the Konch Kotwali area of Jalaun on Saturday arrested a village pradhan's son for allegedly raping and threatening a woman who had come to her maternal home.
Incident Details
The incident occurred when the woman went to bathe in the animal shed built in front of the house. It is alleged that at that time the accused arrived at the spot and forcibly grabbed the woman, took her to a room inside the animal shed, and raped her. When she resisted and raised an alarm, the accused allegedly assaulted her and hurled abuses at her.
Threats and Legal Action
Police said the accused threatened the woman that if she disclosed the incident to anyone, he would send photographs to her husband. According to police, the woman registered a complaint against the accused on Wednesday, after which an FIR was filed, and a search operation launched for the accused.
Arrest and Court Proceedings
After arresting him and completing the necessary legal proceedings, police produced the accused before the court, from where he was sent to jail.
