According to local police, a packet containing two gelatin sticks was discovered on Sunday morning near Thathaguni, Kaggalipura, about a kilometre from the NICE Road junction, nearly 90 minutes before the prime minister’s scheduled visit. Police said the package was spotted by a constable engaged in anti-sabotage inspections as part of an area domination exercise. The packet was reportedly lying around 25 feet from the roadside near a compound wall. After receiving the alert, the area domination team rushed to the location and recovered the two gelatin sticks, following which the surrounding area was secured.

The NIA's involvement underscores the seriousness of the incident. The agency is expected to coordinate with local police to gather forensic evidence and analyze potential leads. Security has been heightened in the area as investigators work to determine the origin of the gelatin sticks and whether any group or individual was behind the placement.

This development comes amid heightened security protocols for VIP movements. The discovery has raised concerns about gaps in security arrangements, prompting a review of anti-sabotage procedures. Officials have assured that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safety of high-profile dignitaries.
