Jalandhar Schools Targeted by Bomb Threat Emails, Police Mobilize Anti-Sabotage Teams

In a concerning security incident, approximately 10 to 12 schools in Jalandhar city received bomb threat emails between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM on Monday. The threatening communications triggered an immediate and coordinated response from local authorities, with the Jalandhar police commissionerate swiftly deploying its specialized anti-sabotage teams to assess and neutralize any potential dangers.

Police Response and School Cooperation

Upon receiving alerts from the affected schools, law enforcement personnel from various ranks and departments sprang into action. This included Local Station House Officers (SHOs), Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) from Model Town, Cantt, and Central divisions, and officers of the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) rank, along with other supporting staff. Multiple police teams conducted thorough anti-sabotage checks at each school under the direct supervision of senior officials.

Police officers reported that the situation was effectively brought under control, thanks in large part to the cooperation and coordination with school management teams. The collaborative effort ensured a systematic and safe inspection process across all locations.

Affected Schools and Context of Threats

Among the institutions that received the threatening emails was the Police DAV Public School located at the Punjab Armed Police Campus. This incident follows two consecutive nights of separate firing incidents in the area—one at a veterinarian's residence and another at an In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) center—raising concerns about a pattern of localized security threats.

The bomb threat emails have heightened vigilance in Jalandhar, with authorities emphasizing the importance of prompt reporting and adherence to security protocols. While no explosives were found during the checks, the police continue to investigate the source and motive behind the threats, underscoring the need for ongoing community awareness and preparedness.
